DEAD

Although this picture looks more like Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon or some other dirty grunger, it is, in fact, Matador recording artist Jay Reatard. Reatard, 29, was found dead in his Memphis home at 3:30am on January 13th. Not much is known about the cause of death, but has now been confirmed that the Memphis police are treating this as a homocide.

I can't say I'm a huge fan, but I do own the Matador Singles collection and I like it. Normally when young artists are found dead, it's either a suicide or an OD in which case, I tend to say 'Fuck 'em'. But if he was murdered, that'd suck.
